“Bringing Baby Home”

I am happy to be a “Bringing Baby Home” workshop educator and facilitator helping new parents with the transition to parenthood.

The Bringing Baby Home workshop is a research-based and research-tested psycho-educational workshop that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for babies and children by strengthening their families.

Bringing Baby Home (BBH) was developed by renowned parenting and relationship experts, Drs. John and Julie Gottman. The Bringing Baby Home program is perfect for those who are: interested in having a baby, expecting a baby, and already parenting an infant or toddler (ages 0-3).

The goal of Bringing Home Baby is to equip a couple with the knowledge and skill sets to constructively cope with the various changes that typically occur during the first three years after their baby is born.

In the BBH workshops, a couple learns how to do the following:

Strengthen their friendship

Increase intimacy and affection

Work through conflict with greater ease

Maintain relationship satisfaction

Reduce hostility

Create positive parent-child interactions

Ensure quality involvement for both parents

Reduces the incidence or severity of postpartum mood disorders

Increase understanding of child development

Create co-parenting strategies

Improve communication, connection, and compromise between partners

Assist in recognizing signs of postpartum mood disorders and awareness of treatment options
